Specialized Services

Lake Excavating has an extensive resume with conventional dam construction, one highlighted background in Hydraulic Sand Cell Dam Construction. Sand Cell Dam Construction is the usage of mill tailings(waste), left over from the mineral extraction process, for dam construction. Lake Excavating successfully placed over 8,000,000m3 of hydraulic sand in 16 months of 24hr construction. This volume and timeline broke every production record the mine owner had since its inception in the 1960’s, once again proving our ability to overcome any challenge.

Athabasca Flats Phase 1 Single Family Site

In September of 2015, Lake Excavating Ltd. was contracted to build 27 new single family lots in Whitecourt, AB. The project began with the installation of the deep utilities and services to each individual lot. Once the deep utilities were installed, Lake Excavating Ltd. was required to bring in over 40,000 cubic meters of import fill material to raise the site to the proper grade levels. Once the site was lifted, the installation of the subgrade granular base, curbs, sidewalks and boulevards were completed. Lake Excavating Ltd., finished the project by paving the roads and approaches for completion. Avion Developments, a sister company of Lake Excavating Ltd. is now selling the lots.
